Here’s Some Instances Of When Passive-Aggressive Notes Work

Published on 07/11/2021

Makes sense

It’s classic passive-aggressive thinking: if you push harder, it will work better. We all know that pushing the printer harder won’t make it work better, but for some reason, when something doesn’t work properly, our instinctive reaction is to push harder, beat it, or otherwise use force, partly to vent our frustration.

Makes Sense

Makes Sense

Even though we’ve all been told by our parents that using force is never the solution (even when it comes to printers that won’t print), it’s our instinct to press the buttons harder. This individual had had it with people abusing the printer and decided to try to reason with them – and what better way to do so than by being passive-aggressive? You have to admit; this is a very persuasive note.

Good call

There’s nothing you can do but play along when someone tries to attack you with passive-aggressive behavior. Like the diet-coke thief, this person believed he’d cracked the code to get people to change their toilet paper, but he had no idea who he was dealing with. Some people are adamant about not changing the toilet paper, and they will go to any length to avoid it.

Good Call

Good Call

And his witty answer to the toilet paper is like putting the nail in the coffin, indicating that he has no intention of changing the toilet paper and is so confident that he doesn’t mind wasting it. While being passive-aggressive can work on some people, it’s important to remember that it doesn’t work on everyone and that it’s sometimes better to just say what you want without trying to be clever.

Might as well

Do you know that person who is constantly correcting everyone’s grammar? Sure, we’re all familiar with this individual. However, when dealing with such a person, trying to be clever and putting up signs of this nature is never a good idea because you can be sure he’ll have something to say about it.

Might As Well

Might As Well

Did you expect him to sit quietly while being accused of such a heinous crime as allowing the microwave to beep, Carolyn? He put up a good fight, which we appreciate. Working in an office or any other environment where you share space with other people comes with its own set of difficulties, and this is just one of them.

Went too far?

Someone in this office appears to be upset that his coworker is taking up too much refrigerator space with his out-of-proportion gallon of milk, and he has decided to take action. He certainly didn’t expect this reaction – people taking his remarks too literally and putting a cow in the fridge.

Went Too Far?

Went Too Far?

This passive-aggressive note was obviously intended as a joke, commenting on the size of this milk gallon without having to say the words. Still, someone took his coworker’s passive-aggressive behavior a step too far and decided to make a joke out of it. On the other hand, the mission was accomplished because this cow takes up a lot less space in the fridge.

The forbidden microwave

You don’t have to be so serious; “do not use under any circumstances ever“? Isn’t that a little over-the-top? I can see why this sign would entice anyone to use the microwave more than ever. But, joking aside, we couldn’t take our eyes off the very realistic illustration he added to the sign, and we have to say, this person is incredibly talented.

The Forbidden Microwave

The Forbidden Microwave

This sign begs the question of what might happen if you use this microwave, and what might be so heinous that someone would post such a dramatic sign? And, if the microwave is truly that dangerous, why keep it there? Why not discard it?

Let it go, let it go

“Let it go, let it go, can’t hold it back anymore,” goes the song (come on, we all know the lyrics), and this person couldn’t hold it back any longer. As previously stated, when a new blockbuster hits theaters, it’s all everyone in the office can talk about, and Frozen is one of those blockbusters that has captivated both children and adults.

Let It Go, Let It Go

Let It Go, Let It Go

Even those who haven’t seen the animated film have heard this song played or hummed by others, so we all know the chorus. Even if you don’t like the movie, you have to admit that this is a catchy song, and it’s only a matter of time before everyone in the office is humming the words “let it go, let it go.”

Best cake ever

It’s often a bittersweet experience to leave the office; on the one hand, you’re spreading your wings and embarking on the next big adventure, but on the other, you’re leaving the place that has served as your second home for who knows how long. This is the outcome of some people not knowing how to say goodbye as well as others.

Best Cake Ever

Best Cake Ever

You end up making a passive-aggressive cake when you’re saying goodbye to someone you’re not ready to let go of or when you feel betrayed by this person leaving you (yes, people can get that attached to coworkers). The message may be frightening, but isn’t it the thought that counts?

Try to catch up

We can all relate to working in an office that smells like ketchup, but I’m sorry, I’m not passive-aggressive; instead, I’m telling people to throw away their stinky leftovers. The answer, on the other hand, is priceless. It stinks, but it’s priceless. The ketchup-eating person most likely ignored this note.

Try To Catch Up

Try To Catch Up

No one would have been able to respond with ketchup if they had sent an e-mail instead of putting up a sign, forcing them to take down the sign. People, it’s 2020; we’ve said it before, and we’ll repeat it: let’s be environmentally conscious, stop wasting paper, and start sending emails. You can also be passive-aggressive online, so don’t worry.

Instructions

Can you blame programmers for jumping up at every sound because they’re so focused on their work? I’m sure this necessary, if slightly offensive, the sign was written after too many interruptions to the programmers’ holy work, but is it essential to depict them as zoo animals?

Instructions

Instructions

However, the most intriguing aspect of this curious sign is the incident mentioned; what kind of incident is this? When was the last time you heard a loud knock on your door? But, on the other hand, I’m not sure I want to know. It’s sometimes better to leave these questions unanswered, just like the sign warning against using the microwave at all costs.

Who won?

The purple note appears just to want to be a part of this amusing office feud, even though he doesn’t want to take sides. This could have gone on indefinitely if it hadn’t been for the purple sticky note, and it’s the first sign that started it all – why contradict yourself?

Who Won?

Who Won?

Why use thumbtacks when there’s a sign saying no thumbtacks? As annoying as he may be, the person who called him out makes a valid point. In any case, as pointless as this notes-argument appears to be, we get to enjoy it in one way or another.

Dishes and boyfriends

You haven’t seen anything yet in terms of coworker creativity when it comes to passive-aggressive behavior. Sharing a flat with another person (or a few others) is never easy, and it can lead to a slew of issues if you don’t establish some ground rules. That’s why passive-aggressive notes come in handy in such situations.

Dishes And Boyfriends

Dishes And Boyfriends

This sign conveys the message without implying any specific accusations against her roommate, allowing the house to remain peaceful. While the humor is clear, and she found the most gentle way of saying what she wants to say, it’s never a bad idea to add a winky face at the end.

Parking skills

This is classic passive-aggressive behavior, implying that they should learn to park! There has to be a better way to deal with people who don’t know how to park or simply refuse to learn because putting up these signs, as amusing as they are, doesn’t appear to be of much use.

Parking Skills

Parking Skills

I’m sure the person received the message, and it may have made him feel guilty for a moment, but he’ll park as he always does the next time because some people just don’t seem to care. However, leaving these notes can’t hurt, and it could be a way of expressing some of that well-deserved rage.

Admiration

What else is there to say? Bad drivers have always been and will continue to be a major source of frustration for us all, particularly when parking. When we can’t find a parking spot, we all feel frustrated and helpless, and sometimes the best way to deal with our rage is to be passive-aggressive.

Admiration

Admiration

This is one of the best passive-aggressive signs we’ve seen in a long time, and it shows that people can keep their cool and come up with clever messages even when they’re upset. Try sticking this note on the car that’s taking up two spaces next time you’re in a similar situation.

Neighborly behavior

We all love dogs, but we don’t always appreciate having to clean up after them, especially when it isn’t our fault. Picking up after your dog is common sense, but we have no choice but to be passive-aggressive!

Neighborly Behavior

Neighborly Behavior

The passive-aggressive notes are useful because they allow you to say whatever you want without saying anything wrong, and they’re also hilarious. Of course, the world would be a much better place if signs like this weren’t required in the first place, but since people don’t have the decency to pick up after their dogs, they might as well be funny about it.

Drink up

Since some people respond better to humor, being passive-aggressive can sometimes work – people get the message, and it speaks louder than shouting, yelling, or expressing emotions. When people take it too literally, the joke is on you. I’m not sure who is more passive-aggressive here; I’d say Dave – but which one?

Drink Up

Drink Up

This person clearly tried to say that the beverage belongs exclusively to Dave (another creative sign to keep office food robbers away), but he didn’t think there might be another Dave. This is why it is important to know all of your peers – not for social reunions but to ensure that your passive aggressiveness works as intended.

Check

Susan, you don’t have to take it all so literally. It probably started with somebody who believed him to be funny (and what we can say, he was right) and created an endless snowball response because everyone wants to have fun.

Check

Check

We only have one or two, questions: why did someone mark an X, and what is the winky face supposed to mean? Is it true that they flushed or not? It doesn’t mean you can’t be passive-aggressive even if the sign isn’t.

Being neighborly

While neighbors can be helpful when you need to borrow a cup of sugar or an egg, they can also be quite a nuisance, especially if they live directly above you and appear to walk around the apartment wearing cement shoes. We’ve all encountered inconsiderate neighbors, whether they’re constantly making noise or acting selfishly in other ways. Here is one method of dealing with them:

Being Neighborly

Being Neighborly

If you don’t know your upstairs neighbors well and are hesitant to approach them, you can always use passive-aggressive signs. You don’t have to say the neighbors are impolite; all you have to do is mention their favorite pair of shoes (= you’re too noisy!), and you’re guaranteed to get their attention.

For your information

Dishwashing has always been the father’s job, for some reason, throughout history. But one father had had enough, and he was no longer willing to serve as the household dishwasher. He decided to defy nature and use the passive-aggressive method for this important cause. This father came up with a clever way to express his dissatisfaction with washing everyone’s dishes.

For Your Information

For Your Information

Unfortunately, I doubt that this sign would be of any use; some things are beyond our control. Washing the dishes has always been the responsibility of the man of the house, and no sign, no matter how amusing, would change that. Fathers purchase dishwashers in the hopes of alleviating some of their workloads, but they always end up sitting empty in the kitchen, taking up space.

The dishes strike again

It’s difficult to live with roommates, but it’s even more difficult to live with your partner. This girl figured out how to tell her boyfriend to do the dishes without actually saying it and risking an ugly argument about who should do the dishes (it’s clearly the man’s job, so that’s settled).

The Dishes Strike Again

The Dishes Strike Again

Since you can’t ignore a note that starts like this – you have to read it all the way through – this note is sure to catch her boyfriend’s attention. What did we do before discovering that being passive-aggressive is effective and don’t need to express our emotions?

Spot on

To be honest, I prefer the sign with the turtle illustration and the example of coloring inside the lines, but this is the same kind of passive-aggressive behavior people often use when making comments about someone who won’t park properly (to put it nicely).

Spot On

Spot On

People can get very creative when it comes to passive-aggressive messages, but you have to admit, this is one of the most creative passive-aggressive signs ever made. With so many words, it clearly conveys the message: don’t park selfishly, don’t take up multiple spots, and get your own.

Too bad

Every tired parent, every irritated roommate, and every partner in the world who has had enough of coming home to a dirty sink wishes to leave a note for this child. How many times have you heard the phrase “dishes don’t do themselves” as a child? Finally, this mother has devised a novel method of communicating her message. But imagine how wonderful it would be if dishes were washed.

Too Bad

Too Bad

However, because we still live in a world where they don’t, this parent/colleague/roommate decided to use the tried-and-true passive-aggressive method to obtain their perfectly reasonable desire. Please report back with your findings if you try this at home!

Ketchup retribution

We’ve all experienced the frustrating feeling of waiting for food for what seems like hours (when you’re hungry, even fifteen minutes feels like hours), and it’s even more aggravating when you’re waiting in a restaurant, and no one pays attention to you.

Ketchup Retribution

Ketchup Retribution

So these people did what we all wish we could do but lack the courage to do: they used ketchup and mustard to give the waiting staff a piece of their mind. They don’t have to say anything because the ketchup speaks for them!

Fonts

We all know not to use Comic Sans in “formal” letters, notes, or any other work-related documents (or not work-related, because this is the worst font). However, it appears that this person missed the memo that Comic Sans is not an appropriate font to use unless you’re a middle school student selling lemonade for extra cash during the summer.

Fonts

Fonts

When he uses this font, does he really expect to be taken seriously? Closing doors can be a real problem in offices for people who have trouble concentrating, especially when their coworkers won’t stop talking about Game of Thrones or humming Frozen songs. We recognize the importance of this sign, but if you want to be taken seriously, use a better font next time.

Isn’t it, though?

This is something that all mothers can relate to. Fortnite has swept the gaming world like a plague, and it’s difficult for us adults to understand what kids see in this game and why they spend so much time on the computer playing it. Rather than telling her child this every day, this mother chose a passive-aggressive approach.

Isn’t It, Though?

Isn’t It, Though?

Rather than reprimanding her child, she makes a statement and places it prominently on her child’s lunch. When you think about it, this is the ideal plan, as he will be unable to argue with her.

Call me, maybe?

Is this crazy because they never do it, or because it’s crazy to have someone block your driveway regularly? In any case, if you want to add some class to your notes, quoting from pop songs is never a bad idea.

Call Me, Maybe?

Call Me, Maybe?

Unlike some of the other passive-aggressive notes we’ve seen, it doesn’t appear as if they’re trying too hard to keep it classy and sophisticated; instead, it appears as if they’re tired of this guy blocking their driveway.

Looking out for Rusty

While we all appreciate it when a colleague puts his dog to work and our pumpkin friends are always welcomed in any office, it also creates some inconvenience for the office, particularly when such signs appear throughout the office.

Looking Out For Rusty

Looking Out For Rusty

We understand why they don’t want Rusty to escape, as dogs are always at risk of fleeing, but we’re not sure what the addition to the sign means – who is Jay? Is he the person who works in this office? Why would you not let him out? This is not much of a passive-aggressive request, but it is one of those amusing workplace signs.

Really?

This is another passive-aggressive way of informing people to clean their dishes! When a coworker fails to wash his dishes, the sink can quickly become a shambles, which is not the type of work environment anyone wants to be a part of.

Really?

Really?

Looking at this shot, I can hear the person who scribbled these sticky notes on the lost plates asking, “Really, you’re just going to leave it there?” You don’t always need extended speeches to explain your sentiments, as in this case, but sometimes just one simple word can suffice.

Why, indeed

What good are two microwaves if you can’t use them both at the same time? It’s not a bad idea to have one. Putting up this sign is the kind of ridiculous behavior we all have to deal with at work from time to time, so why not try to make sense of it?

Why, Indeed

Why, Indeed

At times, it appears as though logic has no place in the workplace, which is why these passive-aggressive notes are so necessary – trying to instill some sense in people without confronting them.

Aren’t we all?

Everyone in the office has a “job”: the one who steals everyone’s food, the one who doesn’t watch Game of Thrones, the one who hums Frozen songs all the time, and the philosophical one who asks the tough questions. While most people are preoccupied with getting through another day, this individual ponders life’s most profound questions.

Aren’t We All?

Aren’t We All?

It could be the person who doesn’t take anything seriously in this case. As a result, posting signs around the workplace can be hazardous. Plus, don’t you think signs are a little out of date? Why put up signs when you can send an e-mail or a group message to everyone telling them to do their dishes, use the printer gently, and avoid using the microwave?

Busted

Even if we’re adults, we never want our parents to find out we’re smoking – it’s just something that feels wrong. When this mother discovered her teenage son was smoking, she didn’t sit him down for a serious conversation like any other parent would, instead choosing to inform him of her knowledge in a passive-aggressive manner.

Busted

Busted

Imagine the look of disbelief on this kid’s face when he opened up his rolling paper and discovered this obnoxious note inside. Of course, the mother could have texted her son the same message as soon as she discovered the rolling paper in the laundry, but what fun would that be?

Again with the dishes?

Dishwashing duty appears to be one of the most pressing issues in any household. While it is obvious that it should always be the father’s responsibility, some fathers choose to rebel by sending passive-aggressive messages or simply failing to do so.

Again With The Dishes?

Again With The Dishes?

The father seemed to think he could eat the cake too – he wrote passive-aggressive notes about the dishes but never did the dishes. Her wife wouldn’t sit and watch it, and she decided to pay him the same coin – with her own passive-aggressive note.

Good neighbors

Probably, this Bob guy was rattling his neighbor over to paint his fence – since every time he passed, the old faded wood bothered him – and the neighbor did not care. He decided to let him know what he was thinking of his request, but this could cause feuds not meanwhile, but with a passive-aggressive message written on that fence.

Good Neighbors

Good Neighbors

We want our home to be a warm and welcoming place, so we are interested in our neighbors’ homes, at least the outside because we want everything around us to look nice. As a result, if the garden of a neighbor is neglected, it could also concern us.

How do you like that?

Despite how amusing, passive-aggressive notes can be, this list teaches us that neighbors should stay out of each other’s business. Requesting favors from your neighbors, it seems, usually results in passive-aggressive messages rather than the job is done.

How Do You Like That?

How Do You Like That?

This man most likely asked his neighbor to mow his lawn, and the latter didn’t appreciate his neighbors intruding on his personal space. Finally, he gave up and mowed his lawn, but not before letting his neighbor know how he felt about it.

Parking trouble

It always seems to come back to parking. This has to be the part of driving that we despise the most, and it’s made worse when you’re stuck in a parking lot behind people who don’t seem to know what they’re doing.

Parking Trouble

Parking Trouble

This is a risky situation, as you do not want to go into parking battles with foreigners. The right strategy – like always – might be to use passive-aggressive messages, as this girl shows, as some people might humorously take it.

Call it like it is

This one isn’t quite as subtle, but some things just have to be said. We all enjoy jogging; it’s a great workout that must be done in comfortable clothing. However, because we live in a society, we must be aware of and considerate of those around us.

Call It Like It Is

Call It Like It Is

Rather than getting into a heated argument with his uncaring neighbor, this man chose to leave her a note on the front lawn. This sign should be visible to anyone walking – or running – past the house, and it’s a safe yet assertive way to let your neighbor know how you feel.

Have the cake

Who says you can’t eat all of the cake and still have room for more? They were wrong; he can have the cake and be passive-aggressive about it. But, joking aside, this is a pretty frightening warning – “I do what I want” – and it appears as if nothing is off-limits for him, including destroying the office cake.

Have The Cake

Have The Cake

Every office has that one guy who defies convention, a rebel if you will. However, this one is on whoever left the cake outside; you do not let the cat watch the cream, just as you would not leave a cake unattended in an office where you know there is an out-of-control food thief.

Ants

This sign is not intended to chastise the person who left the doughnuts at the tech office but to inform them that this is the proper procedure to follow if they wish to have ants in the office. Clearly, this passive-aggressive statement is intended to convey the message, “don’t leave doughnuts in the office!”

Ants

Ants

After all, why would anyone want ants in their workplace? This is an effective message because it is not simply saying, “don’t leave doughnuts,” but mentioning what will happen if they do.

And Milk

This person didn’t want to tackle the situation and tell them that they can’t clean up, so he devised a clever and inventive method to do it — to put it on the food list. But I don’t believe this is something you can find in the shop, much like patience and unlike milk.

And Milk

And Milk

Though it appears as if the milk was added by someone else, including it on the list helps emphasize the point. It emphasizes the request’s passive-aggressive tone, making it more casual and if we’re honest, more convincing. Adults should obviously clean up after themselves, and if they don’t, it’s their choice. I’m hoping at least one person in the office will be affected by this note.

Did you watch GOT last night?

The latest television shows and films are one of the most popular topics of conversation in any office. Naturally, since Game of Thrones has been one of the most talked-about shows in the entertainment industry for the past few years, it was a topic of conversation in almost every office, especially when the highly anticipated final season premiered.

Did You Watch GOT Last Night?

Did You Watch GOT Last Night?

The best way to avoid the tedious question “did you watch last night’s episode?” and having to deal with these conversations over and over is to put a sign if you are one of those strange people who did not like the show (although it is difficult to believe these guys really exist). Even though he decided to be straightforward and just say what he wants to say – don’t talk about GoT with me or anywhere close to me.

A Toy-Ota

Parking spaces are scarce in most cities. It’s rare to see a car parked in a real car parking lot in most major cities worldwide, so seeing one is unusual. This Melbourne, Australia, family parked a plastic toy car in their driveway. They probably received many stares and questions from their neighbors, so they decided to leave a note on the car.

A Toy Ota

A Toy Ota

A note that is more passive-aggressive in nature. It states, “this is the property of unit 1. We pay rent for this carspace and shall therefore use it for whatever vehicle we want.” To be honest, one cannot really argue with that. If they pay for this space and become a part of their property, they are free to use it however they wish, even if it means squandering an otherwise perfect parking space.

Jobs, Steve Jobs

Except for the person who printed the first sign, I’m sure everyone in the office found this amusing. And Steve Jobs’ iconic smug look is the perfect complement to the prank – they couldn’t have asked for a better smile than Steve Jobs’ smug smile. When you think about it, the person who erected the sign almost begged for it.

Jobs, Steve Jobs

Jobs, Steve Jobs

When you work in an office full of sarcastic people, erecting a sign like this is risky business, and whoever thought of erecting Steve Jobs’ face is probably the office’s evil genius. This could not have been avoided, but I’m sure it provided some much-needed laughter in this office, something we can all use during long days of work.

Fixage

Do you know how getting something repaired in an office, any office, can take months? Someone in this office, at any rate, had had enough. Instead of yelling at someone and venting their frustrations, they erected this sign, which could not be more perfectly phrased.

Fixage

Fixage

This person was simply trying to find out when the sink would be fixed without being rude, shouting, or yelling. These office signs always make us laugh, and they inspire us to put up some signs in the office instead of getting into awkward confrontations the next time something happens.

That’s reassuring

We all know that lunch is a big deal in any office, and people are (rightly or wrongly) very attached to their lunch and the ingredients they bring to work. We also understand that sticking a sticky note with your name on the lunch box isn’t always effective and that there’s no way to prevent someone from stealing your lunch.

That’s Reassuring

That’s Reassuring

He’s had enough of someone from the office eating his lunch for the first, second, and third times. He realized there was nothing he could do to keep people from touching the food, but he could say something that would make them regret it.

No tip for her

It’s best not to say anything if you’re not sure whether a woman is pregnant or not, and even if you are, it’s still best not to say anything because women can be sensitive to such comments. When a waitress asked if her customer was dining for two, she didn’t think the joke was funny and decided to speak.

No Tip For Her

No Tip For Her

However, she didn’t want to confront her, and instead of the tip she was probably expecting, she left her a message on the bill. Would your behavior change in such a situation? Some people would slide, but why slide it when a passive-aggressive note can be left?

Diet coke

This person believed he was clever by using this photo to make people feel self-conscious about stealing his diet coke, and he probably had no idea this would be used against him! Attempting to use religion to guilt people into not touching your drink is not a bad idea, but you must be familiar with your texts to pull this off.

Diet Coke

Diet Coke

He hadn’t expected things to come out the way they did, and his coworker who hung the scriptures knows what he’s doing — probably this isn’t the first time he’s stolen liquids from a coworker. In any case, he just won the battle, not the war, and maybe next time, he’ll realize what kind of opponent he’s up against and devise a more effective strategy.

Waiting for prints charming

When the office printer refuses to print, and you don’t have the time to engage in lengthy discussions with the office technicians, you can always post a sign informing them that you’re waiting for your prints.

Waiting For Prints Charming

Waiting For Prints Charming

However, why post a sign stating that the printer is broken when you can make a pun out of it? Perhaps this creative note with entourage will convince someone to fix the printer sooner, or perhaps it will have no effect, but at the very least, the people in this office will have a good laugh.

This is goodbye

We’ve all met people who are so self-centered that when they leave work, they feel bad for their coworkers who will no longer be able to enjoy their daily company. Looking at this cake, we get the impression that this person will not be missed as much as he would like.

This Is Goodbye

This Is Goodbye

When someone makes such a cake for themselves, you know you’re dealing with someone who won’t be missed, but at the very least, everyone would appreciate him bringing cake on his last day.

Point taken

This is as passive-aggressive as it gets. This individual took the time to write this lengthy, elaborate note solely to inform his inconsiderate neighbor about the annoyance level of his new speakers. The length and thought that went into this note make it difficult to ignore. The only remaining question is whether this self-centered neighbor understood this passive-aggressive note at all or whether he believes this is a genuine compliment on his incredible new speakers.

Point Taken

Point Taken

While the sarcastic tone is difficult to miss as you read line after line, if this individual was selfish enough to use his speakers in the middle of the night, who knows what else he can do? At the very least, they attempted to be passive-aggressive before continuing to shout and yell.

Fair enough

If you use these fonts, you can’t expect your request to be taken seriously. These fonts, in our opinion, should have been phased out of the world long ago. As this person points out, you can’t expect anyone to take you seriously if you use whimsical fonts.

Fair Enough

Fair Enough

This sign only serves as fodder for office conversation, as in “Did you see the font David used?” It doesn’t help you achieve your goals. Instead of having the issue resolved, the person who put up the first sign was greeted with a new sign.

Ice

We can understand why people bring their own milk to work if the office doesn’t have it, or their own food, pens, or whatever else they need, but ice? Who needs to bring their own ice to work? What makes their ice from home so special? It’s just ice, really.

Ice

Ice

As a result, you can’t expect to be taken seriously if you put up such a ridiculous sign. While we don’t understand why anyone would use this person’s ice instead of the one made at the office, this is a strange sign usually met with mockery.

Home alone

When you try to be clever about it, that’s what happens. Instead of being passive-aggressive the next time, simply ask your roommate to change the toilet paper. Or, better yet, leave it alone and see how long it takes your roommate to cave! We don’t encourage this kind of behavior, but we’re dealing with a tenacious individual here.

Home Alone

Home Alone

As we’ve seen before, some people are unaffected by passive-aggressive behavior and instead make fun of it. Nonetheless, even though he explicitly stated that the house should be in the shape of a trash can, this is a pretty amusing response.

The food thief has requests

As if stealing other people’s food wasn’t bad enough, he now makes special requests because he’s tired of eating the same thing every day. This has to be the ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen – and that’s his response to people complaining about him eating their food!

The Food Thief Has Requests

The Food Thief Has Requests

Someone chose to be passive-aggressive about it (“my Trader Joe’s green juice grew legs and walked away”), while others told it like it is (“please stop eating my hot dogs!!!”). But nothing seems to work, and this food thief has the audacity to respond, requesting that different food be brought. Things are out of hand in this office.

Sanitation

Someone in this office was clearly upset with the cleaning crew, and instead of confronting them, found a very creative, rather passive way to let them know. It’s difficult to believe that hair could have remained in the room for six months without being removed, and if that’s the case, he has good reason to dislike the cleaning crew.

Sanitation

Sanitation

I don’t think I could have worked effectively for six months with a random stranger’s hair hanging on the wall next to me, and I would have removed it myself instead of waiting for the cleaning crew to finish their work. At this point, it appears that this is the most important thing.

Strange thing

We can’t help but think of Ross Geller and his special Thanksgiving turkey sandwich, which was mistakenly eaten by another coworker and caused him to have a nervous breakdown, as the strange trend of labeling people’s foods in the office was born out of a real, pressing need. Anyone who works in an office and has experienced something similar can probably relate.

Strange Thing

Strange Thing

Perhaps it’s time to abandon this food-labeling strategy, as it doesn’t appear to be working; people continue to eat other people’s food, and putting on passive-aggressive notes for these food thieves doesn’t appear to be of any assistance. Perhaps we’re overly pessimistic, but it appears that the solution is to stop bringing lunch boxes to work simply.

Nice spelling

This passive-aggressive sign aimed at reducing workplace sarcasm almost looks like bait for sarcastic people! How could something like this go unnoticed? This unfortunate error, which isn’t necessarily a spelling mistake but rather an innocent typo, is a field day for sarcastic people trying to keep the sarcastic fire ablaze.

Placing a sign like this was risky, to begin with, and if you’ve already done so, it’s a good idea to double-check those four words, as the last thing you want is for someone sarcastic to notice. In any case, we can take pleasure in the entertaining outcome.

If you dare

No one enjoys being criticized or having their work criticized, but we must acknowledge that criticism is beneficial to our growth and development as people and workers. This person, on the other hand, has never learned this important lesson.

If You Dare

If You Dare

It may be difficult to work with a person who cannot accept criticism, and I don’t want to imagine working with the person responsible for this picture. He found a way to let his colleagues know that he does not accept criticism correctly to avoid any arguments or conflicts.

We’re Jamming

Somebody has put a lot of care into this printer sign that raises several questions, but we can’t think about it right now because we want to take a minute to get this mood! Great, for the rest of the week, I’ll be humming this song.

In addition to being a creative way to inform coworkers that the printer isn’t working, it is likely to bring a smile to their faces. If the printer doesn’t work, the only question remains which printer was used to print out this vibrant sign.

This isn’t much of a passive-aggressive note, as this neighbor simply states the obvious: this is a creepy van, and I wouldn’t want to see one parked in front of my house at any time of day, let alone at night. We can’t blame this neighbor for posting this note, and we hope that his good nature and honesty will help.

If there’s one thing Hollywood has taught us, it’s that big; white vans are always bad news. Whenever something bad happens in a movie, a large white van is almost always present. It’s either someone spying on you or someone trying to kidnap you, or it’s something even worse.

Spoiled milk

How do these people come up with these ideas, who are these people, and why are they unable to benefit from their talent? If this list has taught us anything, it’s that while attempting to be passive-aggressive against a coworker may not always work; it’s always amusing to watch how others react.

Stop putting up signs and start sending out e-mails; it appears the solution is right in front of us once more. Not only would it make our lives easier, but people wouldn’t be able to respond passive-aggressively (or could they?).

My mug

What do you do if you get a passive-aggressive note at work? Naturally, do the polar opposite of what they request. Instead of implying something passive-aggressively the next time, just say what you want to say, or better yet, leave your mug at your desk! That’s the only way to guarantee no one will use it.

Placing this sign was truly asking for it, as we all know that prohibiting people from touching something only serves to increase their desire to touch it badly – such as museum exhibits. That is simply the way things are, and there is no point in trying to change them.

Alarmed

Office signs of all kinds are always amusing, whether it’s a coworker being passive-aggressive and trying to tell his coworkers that their behavior is unacceptable, or simply someone who is bored with his work and puts up random signs – like this one. Isn’t there anything wrong with hanging random signs?

People can get pretty creative when it comes to signs, as we’ve seen before, perhaps because it gives them a comic break from their mundane jobs, and the result is always entertaining. For example, take this note: to perfect his prank, this person took the time to look up the perfect expression of what an alarmed door would look like.

Was it you, Steve?

Steve is the immediate suspect as the person who ate the bananas because he was the one who pointed out that they were placed in a dangerous location. Regardless of who ate the bananas, the sign that says “Please eat me!” is confusing. We can only guess that the sign was placed near the fruits on the snacks table to encourage office workers to avoid chocolate and other unhealthy snacks.

Was It You, Steve?

Was It You, Steve?

But there are many unanswered questions: if this is a public snack table, what were the bananas doing there without a note indicating that they belonged to someone? And, perhaps more importantly, what are those apples doing there? Were they placed there to replace the bananas that had been stolen?

The infinite coffee debate

Some people prefer their coffee weak and milky, while others prefer it strong and spicy. The coffee debate is a never-ending office squabble. The first sign gently informed people that the recommended amount of coffee was three scoops. Still, because it was written so nicely as a suggestion rather than an instruction, people mistook it for a suggestion.

The Infinite Coffee Debate

This seemingly innocuous remark about the recommended amount of coffee per worker devolved into something unexpected, demonstrating why it’s sometimes better to state the obvious rather than equivocate and lead people to believe the subject is debatable.
