Her First Marriage

1976 was the year when Reba McEntire tied the knot with her first husband, Charlie Battles. During the same year, she also released her very first single which was titled I Don’t Want to Be a One Night StandI. Well, opposing her expectations, it did not become that successful. She did not stop working hard because of that and eventually released several songs. After several more tries, she finally released a record that reached the Top 20 of the Billboard music chart and that was a cover of Sweet Dreams by Patsy Cline.

First Time At The Grand Ole Opry

A year after her debut in the music industry, Reba McEntire got invited to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. It was a dream come true because ever since she was a kid, she already dreamed of performing at the Grand Ole Opry, the most prominent home for country music. However, unexpected things happened during the day of her performance. First, the security guard did not let her in until a staff member recognized her because she was not on the list. When she was already inside the venue, she was told by a producer that her spot got replaced by Dolly Parton, so she did not have the opportunity to perform. It was a very unlucky and embarrassing moment for the country singer.
