The first of Sarah’s deployments took place in Afghanistan, a risky and unpredictably chaotic region where anything could take place at any time. She felt both fear and excitement as she prepared to fulfill her lifelong dream of serving her country.

Combat Missions
Sarah participated in a number of combat missions while she was a member of her unit. She witnessed things that no person should ever be forced to see, and she felt the weight of responsibility that came with protecting her fellow soldiers and innocent civilians. She saw things that no person should ever have to see.
