One of the men remarked, “There is someone else on this ship.” “Have you noticed how the lock was shattered? That is something she couldn’t have done from this vantage point.” Another man stated that given the fact that their boat was still connected to the ship, it was safe to assume that they were still present on the ship in some capacity. “You stay here while I search the ship,” the captain said.

Mike and Jeff hurriedly retreated to their hiding spot beneath the staircase and observed from the shadows as a single man exited the room and headed for the upper level. Mike caught a glimpse of a gun tucked away in the man’s belt, and the notion of coming face to face with it caused him to swallow hard. They listened as the man’s footsteps became less audible one step at a time.
