Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
We do not think anyone would be truly surprised to see that Aishwarya Rai made it to our list! She is a common face in these “most beautiful woman in the world” lists, after all. She began to model when she was in college and later won Miss World. In the late ‘90s, she began starring in Bollywood projects. She has been described by Derek Elley of Variety to have a “delicately sensual presence and physical grace”. She gets a lot of media attention, but she has always been quiet when it comes to her personal life.
Brigitte Bardot
Although Brigitte Bardot was initially a dancer, she made up her mind to try out acting back in the ‘50s. She starred in the controversial Robert Vadim film called And God Create Women. It gave her a lot of success when it came out in 1956. One American critic said the actress is “undeniably a creation of superlative craftsmanship.” When she entered the international scene during such a conservative time, she got loads of attention and Simone de Beauvoir even wrote a feminist essay with the title Brigitte Bardot and The Lolita Syndrome. She has been active in the animal rights activism scene, although she was also fined for racial hatred incitement a total of five times.
