Ingrid Bergman

The Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman made her mark in the entertainment industry when she starred in Casablanca opposite the actor Humphrey Bogart. However, you should know that she was already working on Swedish and German films ever since the ‘30s. She had such great international appeal that one biographer has called her “arguably the most international star in the history of entertainment.” Anatole Litvak, a director she has worked with in the past, said that “through all her troubles she held to the conviction that she had been true to herself and it made her quite a person.” Unfortunately, she succumbed to breast cancer in 1982. We are sure she will never be forgotten.

Sophie Marceau

The French actress Sophie Marceau first established herself in the industry when she was just a teen. It all started when she starred in a film called La Boum in the 1980. In the next 15 years, she starred in a number of European films before she made the move to Hollywood by starring in Braveheart. She also went on to appear in the James Bond film called The World Is Not Enough. Although she always makes it to lists like this one, she has admitted she did not get it. She even said this modest thing about herself: “I’ve never really been beautiful. I’m photogenic…”
