Toshi’s Teriyaki Grill – Mill Creek, Washington
Toshi Kasahara, an immigrant from a remote farming community in Japan, launched the first teriyaki restaurant in Washington. Toshi’s Teriyaki Grill, Seattle’s original teriyaki business, has been serving the greatest teriyaki chicken and beef in Seattle style since 1976. The meat is marinated in a soy-ginger mixture and chargrilled; the smokey sweet chicken and beef are served with rice and a trademark sauce consisting of tangy cabbage slaw. This quickly became a neighborhood favorite. Due to popular demand, the restaurant also sells its distinctive teriyaki sauce separately.
