Marilyn Monroe

Who can ever forget about Marilyn Monroe? The iconic Hollywood celebrity was actually born a brunette. Additionally, her given name was Norma Jeane Mortenson and she spent the majority of her childhood going between foster homes and orphanages. During World War II, she was working for a U.S. military factory when a photographer shot a picture of her and put it in a magazine. At the time, she was married to a Marine named Jim who didn’t want his wife to have her own career. However, she wanted to go for it, so she left her old life, signed with a modeling agency, dyed her hair blonde, and changed her name to Marilyn Monroe. As they say, the rest is history.

Meryl Streep

Not many actors have the same incredible natural talent that Oscar winner Meryl Streep has. All the same, Meryl appeared in several high school plays in her teen years, but she wasn’t all that interested in pursuing acting as a career. That is, until later in life. At Vassar College in 1969, Meryl got attention all across her campus for her role in the play Miss Julie. From there, it was smooth sailing toward an amazing career. “I don’t think anyone ever taught Meryl acting,” a Vassar drama professor said. “She really taught herself.”
