Bob Barker – Born in 1923 – The Price Is Right
When one hears the word “tenacity,” many things come to mind, but for us, one of those things is Bob Barker. He spent 35 years hosting “The Price is Right,” the longest-running daytime program in North American television history. Hats off to the man who won 19 Emmys for Daytime Entertainment but managed to keep his hat on by being unassuming about it. Barker officially retired in 2007, but he didn’t decide to take a meaningful sabbatical until 2015. We adore his method of unwinding in his advanced age, which involves lounging in a comfortable chair and watching vintage military-themed films. Before that, he had two cameo appearances on “The Price.”
Pat Sajak – Born in 1946 – Wheel of Fortune
Pat Sajak earns money by helping others to do the same. We don’t know of any greater purpose, if that isn’t already magnificent. He has been hosting “Wheel of Fortune” since 1981, making him the longest-running television host in history. He oversees the action as participants spin the renowned wheel of fortune to win cash prizes of up to $1 million on four days each month. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved because the show’s on-air personality makes nearly $50,000 per episode. Pat is currently enjoying himself in Maryland with his lovely wife.
