Jake Owen
He was born as Joshua Ryan Owen, popularly known as Jake Owen is an American country music singer/songwriter. He signed with RCA Nashville in 2006 and managed to land a record deal with them. His debut album “Starting with Me” was released the same year. Though he released his first album in 2006, Jake Owen took 5 years before he landed on the number one hit on the country charts with his song Barefoot Blue Jean Night. He had also toured as an opening act for several other country artists like Keith Urban and Brad Paisley. He released a couple more albums. Most recent was his “Greetings from…Jake”, released by his new record label, Big Loud Record. His recent divorce with wife Lacey Buchanan kept him in the headlines recently.
Darius Rucker
Darius started his career as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of rock band Hootie & the Blowfish, which he founded in 1986 at the University of South Carolina along with Mark Bryan, Jim Sonefeld and Dean Felber. Their band released 5 studio albums with him as a member before he started his solo career in 2008, after being in the band for 22 years. He signed with Capitol Nashville as a country music singer and released his first country music album “Learn to Live.” His single, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” made him the first black artist to reach number one on the Hot Country Song charts since Charley Pride in 1983. In 2009, he became the first black American to win the New Artist Award from CMA. He recently played Country to Country festival in Europe. He also appeared as a mentor on the seventeenth season of The Voice.
