Utter Daze
The owner, bartender, and the chef at the restaurant on Connecticut Avenue were surprised when the customer left with a huge amount of tip in their bill. It was a $2,000 tip on a $93 amount of food that the customer ordered. Laura said, “I was in an utter daze,” and she added “I was completely speechless. I had to do a double-take.” Laura went to her boss in order to explain what she had found. Chris told her “We need to talk”

Both went back to his office, while Laura showed the receipt that was left by the customer. Chris remembered that “This is the kind of stuff you see in the restaurant business that happens to some guy in the Midwest or the West Coast.” He also added “You think, who are these people who give these extraordinarily generous tips that just made a server or bartender’s day? And then, sure enough, it happened to us.”
