This highly successful television show premiered in 2001. It has a rather simple premise. They performed auditions across the United States until they discovered the perfect candidate to be crowned American Idol. The vast majority of the millions of hopefuls have no chance at all. According to reports, scouts have already been deployed to find the most gifted vocalists before the auditions. Isn’t it tragic to learn that it was all a farce?

On this popular MTV show, hosts Max and Nev strive to solve the mystery of “who is truly behind these accounts.” While it may seem irrational to you, there are actually a lot of people who “catfish.” Having said that, this does not mean that everything you see on the show is authentic. The makers, it is believed, essentially reverse the application process. Catfishers have to apply to be on the show.
