Hope Solo
Are you aware that the U.S. Olympic soccer player Hope Solo did not always serve as a goalie on the field? No, she actually began playing as a forward when she was in high school. She later switched to goalie when she was in college, and it stayed this way when she went pro. She has two Olympic gold medals under her belt, which she definitely deserved. Becca Longo made her mark on history as the first female student to get a football scholarship to an NCAA institution. It was huge news that completely changed things for many aspiring athletes. She is not quite a pro athlete yet, but she might go on to be the first woman in pro football! Best of luck to her!
