Random Jean Buttons
Most people wear jeans, so there is a good chance that you have noticed the extra buttons added to different parts of your pants. You might not know it, but those buttons are actually really important. Known as rivets, they are strategically added to the garment to prevent them from coming apart at the seams. Levi Strauss owns the patent for these. He thought of them after hearing miners complain about the way their jeans wore out in 1829.

Extra Fabric With New Clothes
New clothes sometimes come with a little plastic bag with extra fabric. Most people think nothing of them and assume that they are used for tears and rips. In reality, they are meant to be a test fabric for the washing machine! You can drop them inside to check if they will bleed or shrink under your regular settings. If you ask us, this is actually a good idea since you can prevent damaging the actual garment.
