Deep Thoughts
Joyce couldn’t shake off the memory of that vacation. She and Oscar had been struggling to conceive for years, and they had almost given up hope. But then, they had visited a witch doctor on the recommendation of a friend, who had claimed that the witch doctor had helped her conceive.
Skepticism
Joyce was skeptical, but Oscar had insisted that they try it. They had traveled to a remote village in the mountains, where they had met the witch doctor. He had given them some herbs to drink and had cast a spell, chanting in a language they didn’t understand. They had left feeling foolish, thinking that they had wasted their time and money.
