The Discovery
It looked like he stumbled into an entrance of some sort. It looked like a hatch! John cleaned the area and pulled open the lid. He tried to hold his breath as well since there might be mold or even toxic gas fumes down there. He looked inside and felt amazed by the sight that greeted him.

The lid was located around three feet underneath the ground. He saw something that seemed like blades! A closer inspection made him realize that it was a spiral staircase. It would have been easy for him to go down right away, but John managed to hold his excitement in for a good reason.
