Michael Phelps
With 23 gold medals, the man from Baltimore is the most successful Olympian of all time. His star rose at the 2008 Beijing Games when he swam eight gold medals (three with the relay) and set a new world record seven times. That same year, our colleagues at Sports Illustrated US named him “Athlete of the Year.”
Thierry Omeyer
As a title collector, Thierry Omeyer is second to none! What is probably the best goalkeeper of all time has won nine French championships, six German championships and four Champions League titles. The world handball player from 2008 won five World Cups, three European Championships and two Olympic titles with the national team. What a record!
