Everyone was relieved that it came to a happy conclusion, and Tommy immediately forgot about what had occurred earlier in the conversation. He was at this point solely focusing on savoring his time alone with the orca. The remainder of the performance was canceled, which meant that Tommy could continue to interact with the orca up until it was time to feed them.

Tommy felt a wave of relief wash over him as he realized that the orca hadn’t been trying to hurt him after all. He started to see the animal in a new light, as a friendly and playful creature rather than a dangerous predator.
