Sarah Cudd, who was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky, had a hard time working her way up through the ranks of the military, but her enthusiasm drove her to succeed. Cudd’s training included putting him through an extremely difficult test for the Public Health Command, which was one of their requirements. Due to the fact that the 29-year-old was in generally decent form, she believed that this wouldn’t be a problem for her at all. She collapsed to the ground and rolled herself into a ball just a few feet shy from the finish line. What took place after that completely shocked each and every one of us.
The Strenuous Physical Examination
In order to obtain the Expert Field Medical Badge, Cudd and the other members of her team had to demonstrate that they were capable of overcoming this obstacle. It is not an easy accomplishment to receive this award, which is granted to members of the armed forces who are able to persevere through both physical and written trials.

The Strenuous Physical Examination
Down For The Count
Cudd had a good understanding of the idea that this was going to be a challenging task. Because only 17% of people pass the test, the vast majority of people do not succeed. It’s possible that she was thinking about this information at the time she slipped and fell while trying to complete the task.

Down For The Count
Pushed To The Limit
Since she had already accomplished so much and gotten so far in the course, the question now was whether or not this obstacle would be the one that caused her to fail. It was one of the last before the end of the route, and of course the 12-mile Foot March was one of the most challenging parts of the entire program. But this was one of the last before the end of the course.

Pushed To The Limit
Strict Regulations
Exactly how does one go about completing the march of 12 miles? To begin, all of the competitors are required to walk continuously for a distance of 12 miles while simultaneously holding their guns and carrying heavy equipment in backpacks strapped to their backs. In order for them to earn the badge, they need to complete the entire march in fewer than three hours.

Getting Noticed
In 2015, Sarah made an effort to complete the march by taking part in a group that consisted of 239 other people who also attempted the feat. This particular event stood out and assisted her in becoming an internet sensation, despite the fact that the program was designed to provide participants with a range of common ones to choose from.

Getting Noticed
Captured On Camera
The last few miles of the march that she took part in were shot, and the videos were finally put up on the internet, where they attracted the attention of many people from different parts of the world. A fellow soldier, Captain Lloyd Mason, was the one who took the footage and disseminated it to the public.

Captured On Camera
Spread Like Wildfire
After taking the video, Captain Mason uploaded it to his Facebook page, where it quickly gained traction and started to spread over the internet. He was astounded to discover that the video had been forwarded more than 20,000 times in the end. Also, it was published on YouTube, where it has racked up more than a million views.

Spread Like Wildfire
Nothing Left
The video that he uploaded shows Him inching closer and closer to the finish line while carrying the hefty backpack and holding the rifle in his hand. On the other hand, you can see her knees giving way, which ultimately leads to her falling to the ground. It appears that she is utterly spent, since she is unable to proceed with anything at this point.

Nothing Left
Ounce Of Hope
Cudd, unwilling to concede defeat, puts up her best effort in a struggle to regain her footing. She manages to take a few more steps, but not long after that, she falls to the ground once more. In spite of the fact that she was so determined, it appeared that this particular attempt would not be successful for her.

Ounce Of Hope
Utterly Defeated
Sarah appeared helpless as she lay on the ground helpless and drained, fully defeated, and still wearing her rucksack. Sarah was unable to move. Nevertheless, at that same time, she was surrounded by friends and coworkers who made the extraordinary decision to do something.

Utterly Defeated
Get Up
The soldiers surrounded her and began to encourage her with comments such as “Get up!” and “You’ve got it ma’am!” as they yelled to her from a distance. This served to drive her, and she relied on her rifle for support as she struggled to get back up on her feet.

Get Up
Shouts Continue
In spite of the fact that she appears to be fairly wobbly, she is able to rise up and start walking again, moving ever-so-slightly closer to the finish line that is only a few feet away. Her friends are continuing to encourage her by yelling it to her, and some of them are even walking with her as she makes her way through the obstacle course.

Shouts Continue
Past The Line
She had an ironclad resolve to see the task through to the end, and she was able to succeed because to the amazing support she received from everyone around her. She came very close to giving up, which would have been a terrible decision given how close she was getting to the end of the race. When she crossed the finish line, her companions leaped with delight, shouted their congratulations, and bounced up and down.

Past The Line
One Of 14
She finished the race in a total time of 2 hours 47 minutes, which meant that she was one of the 46 individuals who were awarded the Expert Field Medical Badge on that particular day. Even more incredible is the fact that she was one of only 14 women who finished the march in less than three hours on that particular day.

Sigh Of Relief
During an interview with ABC, She revealed that the only time she experienced relief was when she had completed everything. She felt an immense sense of gratitude for people who had cheered her on and given her support in order for her to succeed. It was obvious that they provided her with the final impetus to get things moving in the right direction.

Sigh Of Relief
True Hero
The Public Health Command of the United States Army, which published the footage of Cudd’s drive to finish, was one of the many people who recognized her feat as a significant source of motivation when it was made public. It was written in the caption that “Cudd shows us what it looks like to not quit.”

True Hero
About 5 Feet Away From Failure
According to what She shared with ABC, receiving that much attention was a really humbling experience for her. Yet, the effect she had that day was extremely motivational. She acknowledged that despite the fact that she was only a few steps away from failing, she was able to prevail because to the assistance she received from her coworkers.

About 5 Feet Away From Failure
Below The Surface
Cudd revealed her thoughts on the event in question during an interview she gave to Fox News in the year 2015. She stated that in addition to the encouragement she received from her coworkers, she also thought about the support she had from her friends and husband, and she anticipated coming home to see them once she completed the task. All of this helped propel her onward to reach her goal.

Double Life
Another servicewoman, Shannon Ihrke, harbored the hope that the members of her squad would show her the same level of support that Cudd’s had. During her time in the military, Ihrke kept secret. She was leading a double life, and she was afraid about what would happen if the truth was discovered about this Marine Corps Sergeant. She had been keeping this secret for quite some time.

Double Life
On The Edge
When Ihrke was only 19 years old, she enlisted in the military. She had a challenging financial condition to deal with while she was attending college, so she investigated her various financing alternatives in order to pay for her education. Because of this, she ultimately made the choice to enlist in the armed forces, and more specifically, the Marines.

On The Edge
Added Bonus
She reasoned that if she joined the Marine Corps, not only would she be able to serve her nation, but she would also have the opportunity to travel to many different countries. She was deployed to Afghanistan, and despite the fact that the circumstances there were far from ideal, she reported that it had been a beneficial experience for her, and she believed that it was the best decision she had ever made.

Added Bonus
Climbing The Ranks
As she joined, Shannon started making her way up the ranks slowly. She began her career as an administrative assistant, during which time she was responsible for things such as receiving correspondence, placing travel orders, and examining punishment books. On the other hand, she was well aware that she did not wish to remain in this position indefinitely.

Climbing The Ranks
Battling Stigma
She had no desire to stay an administrative assistant for the rest of her life, so she put in a lot of effort in order to advance in her career. In the end, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Unfortuitously, she also started to experience stigma and discrimination as a result of the fact that she was a female marine. Despite this, she didn’t let it get her down or impede her enjoyment of the encounter.

Battling Stigma
The Second Secret Job
In an interview with the Military Times, Ihrke acknowledged that being a female marine could be challenging at times. Despite this, however, she stated that she would not allow anything to prevent her from giving it her all and demonstrating how much she is capable of doing. She adopted a mentality of putting in long hours at work, and as a result, she started working two jobs.

The Second Secret Job
Keeping The Truth Hidden
She remained silent about it for a number of years, but in 2019, Ihrke granted an interview to Inside Edition in which she revealed the information. She claimed that because she had spent her childhood in a rural area, she did not realize she was a female until she was 10 years old. Despite this, she never had any interest in the military until a great deal of time had passed.

Keeping The Truth Hidden
Out Of High School
She had no notion what she wanted to accomplish with her life after she graduated from high school. She gave some consideration to attending college, which appeared to be the most logical next step. On the other hand, she did not have anything else planned for after that. What she was aware of was the fact that she was exhausted from working two jobs in addition to attending school. After graduating from high school, Shannon was at a loss as to what direction she wanted her life to take. College was the most logical next step for her, but she had no idea what she wanted to do with the rest of her life after she graduated. On the other hand, she was aware that she was worn out from attending school and doing two jobs.

Out Of High School
Financial Aid
When she inquired with her college counselor about various forms of financial assistance, she was informed that the only two circumstances under which she would be eligible to receive free tuition in the state of Minnesota were if she was a single mother or if she was a member of the armed forces. As soon as she was aware of this fact, she developed a strong sense of anger and, more importantly, perplexity.

Financial Aid
Disbelief
As soon as she had collected her thoughts, she began her investigation into the various branches of the armed forces. She engaged in conversation with recruiters from the Air Force, then on the way out, a recruiter from the Marine Corps stopped her. She had not given any attention to enlisting in the Marines, and the man was of the opinion that she was not capable of doing so anyhow.

Disbelief
Accepted The Challenge
The fact that it was a challenging program and that it was highly unlikely that she would be able to complete bootcamp stoked the fire that was already present within her. His negative attitude just served to fuel her determination, and she made the decision to sign up for the program right then and there.

Accepted The Challenge
Worry And Fear
After the fact, she started having second thoughts about the choice that she had made. She couldn’t help but ask herself, “What have I done?” as she was already on the plane traveling to the military boot camp. She came to the conclusion that this organization was probably not the most female-friendly of its kind.

Worry And Fear
The Man’s World
Despite the fact that she had always been physically active, she was told repeatedly that the Marine Corps is a male-dominated environment. She allowed this type of rhetoric to affect her, and as a result, she began to feel judgmental and self-conscious from the very beginning. She had the impression that someone was focusing on just her.

The Man’s World
Twice As Hard
Yet, she swiftly made the decision to pull herself together and brush aside the misgivings expressed by other people. She came to the conclusion that in order to be treated on an equal footing with everyone else, she had to put in twice as much effort as they did. She made the decision to push herself in order to demonstrate that she did in fact belong there. She was fortunate in that there were other women nearby who could assist her and support her as well.

Twice As Hard
Full Motivation
She had female drill instructors who served as a source of inspiration and motivation for her. In spite of the fact that it felt like a boys’ club most of the time, she managed to find guides who assisted her in achieving success. She exerted herself to the absolute limit.

Full Motivation
The Unexpected Promotion
She never slacked off in her efforts, and after serving for two years with the same rank, she was finally given a promotion. She was advanced all the way to the E4 level, which can take anywhere from two years to four years to achieve.

The Unexpected Promotion
Hit The Target
She had a lot of fun firing weapons at targets, which was the primary factor that contributed to her rise in the rankings. Shannon had been working on her shooting skills with her father ever since she was a little child, but she had no idea that these skills would prove useful to her when she joined the Marine Corps many years later.

Hit The Target
Honorably Discharged
There are a lot of individuals who make snap judgments about other people based on their appearance, but you can sometimes use that as motivation to push yourself harder and show that you can genuinely keep up with others. This was the impetus that drove Shannon to put in significant effort. On the other hand, she was dishonorably discharged in the year 2012.

Honorably Discharged
Exploring New Paths
Upon her discharge from the Marine Corps, she made the decision to explore other interests and enrolled in a science program at Elmhurst College. Yet, this was not the only thing that she chose to pursue after making her decision. She was getting close to the conclusion of her service in the military when an opportunity presented itself, and she made the decision to pursue it.

Exploring New Paths
Modeling Debut
Shannon paid a visit to her friends in Chicago shortly before she departed the Marine Corps. Shannon was invited to participate in a fashion show that was being hosted by one of her friends, and she was requested to walk the catwalk. This brought her into contact with photographers from all over the world as well as those in the fashion industry.

Modeling Debut
Horse Trainer
In spite of the fact that she had many successful years in the modeling industry, she ultimately made the decision to pursue a career in the equestrian industry. She teaches youngsters how to ride horses, and she also runs a horse posse and competes with six horses in roping competitions. In addition, she operates a horse rescue organization.

Motherhood
She worked with children for a considerable amount of time before deciding that she was mature enough to start a family of her own. On October of 2019, she gave birth to a daughter named Aryana River. In June of 2020, she received the news that she will be having a second child.
