Julia challenged everyone, stating, “The challenge I’m giving is this: Let’s consider before we purchase, wear, trash, and buy again.” Can we purchase used clothes? Do you know how to buy responsibly? BUY LESS? Learn to sew a few things? Do we really need so many new outfits? Are we just maintaining a society that identifies us based on what we wear rather than what we do?”

Julia offers additional food for thought on her Instagram feed: “When this is done, I’ll change more frequently, but it won’t dominate me as it previously did.” I’ll go shopping, but I’ll do it carefully. I’ll have less, but not to this extent. We shouldn’t allow our incapacity to accomplish everything prevent us from doing what we can.”
