A High Price
Naturally, the expense of living is high in a consumerist culture. But, as Elizabeth and Julia, as well as a large number of people, recognized, something had to be done. Things must alter to improve – or at the very least to begin improving. However, the fundamental issue was what might be done to effect change. The first step was to determine a new method of doing things. That is where this obstacle comes into play. These ladies were attempting to make a statement.

Elizabeth continued to love wearing her loyal dress as the challenge progressed. Not only that, she spent the whole time traveling! She’d worn the gown in a variety of different circumstances and places. She hiked, traveled, and explored cities, all dressed identically. One thing she discovered as a result of this challenge? “I certainly learned I don’t need as many stuff as I have or feel as if I do,” she said.
