The character of Laura was played in the show by Heather Locker. She was the divorce lawyer for Alan. He decided to pursue Laura no matter what might happen, with Charlie hitting on any woman he wants. Charlie made a serious error, however, in constantly lying to her while she was dating her. Laura took her revenge after Charlie and Laura broke up by ruining Alan’s divorce settlement, forcing him to look for a new lawyer.
