Sara Rue plays Naomi who is the daughter of Berta. Berta sees Naomi as her pride and joy, even though she is both pregnant and unemployed. Due to her situation, Naomi is forced to move in with her mother for support. Within a matter of no time, Naomi develops feelings for Alan. In the middle of their first kissing scene, Naomi goes into labor. After giving birth to a baby girl, she and Alan decide to keep their relationship a secret. Berta soon finds out and to everyone’s surprise, she was actually happy about it, since Alan was the kindest man her daughter had ever dated. Sadly, the relationship falls apart after Naomi’s ex and her daughter’s biological father returns, and the two get back together.
