Lester Holt – $15 Million

Lester Holt spent 19 years at CBS. He worked for the network as a foreign correspondent as well as a reporter and anchor. Holt joined MSNBC in 2000. He started out as a guest anchor for two of the network’s shows, NBC Nightly News and Today. When the network demoted Brian Williams, Holt was hired as the show’s permanent anchor. Holt was the first African American to be a solo anchor for a nightly newscast at the time.

Jim Rome – $90 Million

Jim Rome began his career as an intern for KTMS, a Santa Barbara radio station. He later became a traffic reporter before working part-time at XTRA Sports. Rome impressed the network so much that he was offered his radio program called “The Jim Rome Show,” also known as “The Jungle.” For a few years, he hosted sports television for many networks, including FX’s The FX Sports Show, ESPN2’s Talk2, and Fox Sports Net’s the Last Word. When Rome was hired to host ‘Rome is Burning’ for ESPN in 2003, the program lasted until 2011, when Jim left to join CBS.
