Avon
Most Avon products are manufactured in China. In 2019, the global beauty house announced that the manufacturing operations were bought out by a Chinese company called TheFaceShop. The piece of news was posted on the website and assured everyone that the Chinese plants would produce high-quality products. In the same year, Patrick Thomas announced that his Natura Cosmetics would buy Avon for a cool $2 billion. The company was probably relieved since the sales had been going down.

Pyrex Bakeware
Pyrex Bakeware opened its doors in the middle of the First World War. The director of research at Corning, Inc. invented the shock-resistant and low-expansion glass. This is the reason it started out as a subsidiary of the company. Called Nonex, the material was then used for lantern globes and battery jars before it was renamed and repurposed for the kitchen. He had to take out the lead before it could be used by the everyday consumer. Pyrex was a hit in the United States since it was, and still is, an American brand. Its competitor at the time was the foreign Duran. The company has since expanded its markets to Asia, Africa, and Europe.
