Barbara Mandrell & The Mandrell Sisters

Barbara Mandrell was deemed to be the “Sweetheart of Steel” because she was able to master the pedal steel guitar, which had even given her accolades when she was just 11 years of age. Her parents taught her, and so Barbara and her sisters eventually formed a family band together with their parents. They went on a few tours in the United States and were known as the Mandrell Family Band. Barbara’s career almost ended because she had been in a severe car accident last 1984. Thankfully, she was able to recover from her experience and only retired from music in 1997.
