Those were the thoughts that were running through her mind just before the police officer came into the diner. She was consumed by her thoughts that day. However, she was still able to work; she took the menu and gave it to the police officer. She then welcomed him into the joint.

Courtney was so used to seeing the police officers in the diner. She knew they were from the Voorhees Township Police Department. That day when she saw a police officer, she did not recognize at all; she knew something was up. However, she just could not figure out what it was.
