Yule Ball Practice

In preparation for the Yule Ball, the cast had weeks of dance practice. But for Daniel Radcliffe, the performers spent almost three weeks in dance workshops for the Yule Ball sequence in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Radcliffe was only willing to take a few classes due to his busy acting schedule. During the Yule Ball, he is only shot from the waist up, but audiences aren’t able to see his clumsy movements.

They Broke A Rule

For the first time in hundreds of years, the real Duke Humfrey’s Library permitted production to use flame during a scene, breaking their rule of no fire. Duke Humfrey’s Library is the oldest reading area in the University of Oxford’s Bodleian Library, with a strict “no flame” policy. They did, however, make the use of a flame in the lantern Harry uses to sneak into the forbidden section.
