The Tunics Are Not Long
When Joan discovered some evidence from this time period, she came to the conclusion that the average men wore a tunic. However, it was not long enough like the ones represented artwork. All men who were living during that time period were dressed in a knee-length tunic. This allowed for more flexibility when they were performing their daily tasks. Any piece of clothing that was longer than those tunics were very impractical, specifically for those doing their job.

Only Upper-Class Can Wear Full-Length Robes
Joan also discovered that there were different classes of people living during that time. Most of the upper-class would occasionally wear full-length cloaks or robes, which would sometimes mean that they were flaunting their social status, and they did not need to earn a living during those days. The historian considered this to be another piece of evidence about what the Messiah looked like. Jesus did not wear this type of robe as he was a simple, humble man.
