Silently Waiting
It’s been 20 minutes. During the first ten minutes, Joyce and Oscar sat in quiet. When Oscar finally questioned, “Do you think we should have taken him more seriously?” Joyce just stares at him without responding. She is aware of how much she needs Oscar right now and vice versa, but she still sneers.
Bickering
“Maybe this is what happens when the father of a boy spends more time with his friends than with his family.” Oscar suddenly looks up and responds with a stern voice: “Oh, really? That’s why there’s secret service in our house, talking to our 8-year-old son? That’s my fault? Simply because I have a social life?”
