Reba was about to receive another huge accomplishment in the middle of 2014 as she was about to be included in the Country Music Hall of Fame. However, weeks before the actual event, her father suddenly fell into a coma. He suffered from a stroke before being in the mentioned state. Days after being unresponsive, Clark McEntire passed away. It was devastating to the whole family, especially to Reba. That made it impossible for her to attend the event. Well, being the lovely friend of the singer, Dolly Parton participated in the event on behalf of her and made it possible for Reba to be admitted to the Hall of Fame.

Just like what she did after her band members tragically died because of the sudden plane crash, Reba McEntire wrote a song and dedicated it to her biggest fan, Clark McEntire. The song was titled Just Like Them Horses. It was nothing but full of emotions. With the release of the single, the whole world knew how sad and devastated Reba was because of her beloved father’s passing.
