Ilyushin II-76
When the Cold War was at its worst, the Ilyushin II-76 was constructed. This aircraft is still in use today, and there are currently about 1,000 of them operating worldwide. It was originally designed as a multi-purpose aircraft with the USSR in mind, but the Russian army later adopted it to transport military equipment and vehicles.
Boeing C-17 Globemaster III
One of the biggest military aircraft to ever fly in public is this one. The Globemaster III was created for the first time in 1991 and continued to be produced until 2015. Unfortunately, its production was stopped. McDonnell Douglas created this potent vehicle, and each one cost about $218 million to produce.
