Samsonite
Luggage retailer Samsonite first joined the market in 1910. Founded by Jesse Shwayder in Denver, Colorado, it stayed on the West Coast for 91 years. This was no longer the case after a change in ownership, which took it to the other side of the country. The headquarters are now located in Mansfield, Massachusetts. The products are primarily made in Europe and Asia. There are factories in China, Hungary, and India. The Nashik plant in India manufactures around 40% of the hard luggage! It is a very popular brand in China when it comes to sales as well. Two-thirds of the overall products are made in China through contract-manufacturers located in Shanghai.
