The Asian countries have been major hubs for cotton manufacturing ever since the Industrial Revolution. On the other hand, the company has stores in the United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. In 2017, it has over a thousand stores, which includes a spinoff called Aerie.

In 1921, Leon Leonwood Bean founded L.L. Bean in Maine. The company specializes in recreation equipment and outdoor clothing. The main plant is located in Freeport until now! With its 55 American stores and e-commerce site, the company brings home $1.6 billion in revenues per year. The first product of the company would be the Maine Hunting Shoes, which were made in the basement of the founder’s brother until they could finally afford a factory. The company now employs 5,100 people.
