Rascal Flatts
It started as a trio in Columbus, Ohio, in 1999. The members, Gary LeVox as the lead vocalist, his second cousin Jay DeMarcus played the bass, and Joe Don Rooney played the guitar and banjo. Their demo in 2000 had them signed, and since then, the trio released seven albums, all had been certified platinum or higher by RIAA. They’ve been touring the country following the single I Like the Sound of That. The band recently announced that they would be disbanding following a farewell tour after 21 years together but was canceled due to the pandemic of COVID-19.
Kacey Musgraves
Kacey Musgraves also appeared to be one of those artists who were in Nashville Stars. Before entering the competition, Kacey self-released three solo albums and one more as Texas Two Bits, before appearing on the fifth season. She placed 7th on the show but took her couple more years before she signed with her label, Mercury Nashville Records. Her music differed from others because Kacey didn’t shy away from relaying controversial topics as other artists do. She also won six Grammy Awards, six CMA awards, and three ACM.
